Sarada Charan Dey College, Kalinagar is an institution of Higher Education established in the year 1992 by a general meeting held on 13.09.1992 in Annada Charan Girl’s High school , Kalinagar by the initiative of local people including social workers, academicians and the representatives of people .In this meeting after a threadbare discussion unanimously resolved to establish a college in this locality to cater to the growing needs of Higher education from the current academic session 1992 and the college be named after the name of late Sarada Charan Dey, a veteran social worker and patron of learning to commemorate his sweet memory. Sarada Charan Dey College, Kalinagar is a rural Higher Educational institution situated in the district of Hailakandi of Assam, which is affiliated to Assam University, Silchar.

                The college started its journey in the year 1992 by some local active and generous people with some noble vision and mission. The college initially started in its own land in a bamboo platted classrooms. After two/three years an R.C.C. building was constructed with the donation received from local M.L.A. The college obtained permission to start classes under Guwahati University in the year 1993. Then in the year 1995 after the inception of Assam University Silchar, the institution came under Assam University as an affiliated College. Since then, joint effort has been taken and trying its level best for satisfactory academic performance besides excelling in various fields including games and sports and cultural activities. In the year 2019 the college received financial aid from Rs. 50 Lakhs from State Govt. for the first time. Due to newly constructed building, proposed three storey building the office of the college has been shifted which is above the flood level. Regarding Digital classroom, Digital Library, the work is in progress and expecting to be completed within a short period of time.
